February 13, 2026 | The American Bazaar published an article titled Creating trust and building confidence: The growth of Indian American philanthropy, written by Manisha Bharti, Pratham USA and Alex Counts, IPA, that explores the rapid growth of Indian American philanthropy and highlights how annual giving has surged 4–5x since 2018 as diaspora leaders increasingly focus on social impact. It attributes this shift to improved timing, strong nonprofit opportunities in India, influential role models, national giving campaigns, and greater engagement of younger generations, noting that donors are becoming more strategic and impact-driven as they help strengthen ties between the U.S. and India.

February 10, 2026 | India West published an article by IPA’s Executive Director, Alex Counts, entitled “How Philanthropic Ecosystems Are Redefining Cross-Border Impact.” The article explores how emerging philanthropic ecosystems are transforming cross-border giving by fostering collaboration among donors, nonprofits, and institutions. January 21, 2026 | In an article co-authored by Deepali Khanna, the Senior Vice President of The Rockefeller Foundation who leads Asia’s Regional Office, and Neera Nundy, Partner and Co-Founder of Dasra, the Hindustan Times addresses India’s climate crisis and the capacity of the diaspora to aid India in the shift from mitigation to adaptation and resilience. The article references the power of the diaspora to effect change through knowledge, networks, innovation, and philanthropic ecosystems like India Giving Day.

December 2, 2025 | In an article published by Indiaspora about growing philanthropy within the Indian American diaspora, Jay Sehgal, Executive Vice President of Sehgal Foundation USA, and Alex Counts, Executive Director of IPA, recount progress made over the past decade and building on success for future growth.
