March 20, 2026 | The success of India Giving Day 2026 was covered by India New England News, India West, and South Asian Herald, and hundreds of local and regional news sources.
March 19, 2026 | The India Philanthropy Alliance distributed a press release to announce the success of India Giving Day 2026, with $5.6 million raised for the 51 participating organizations and a first ever livestream event called INDIA GIVING DAY LIVE! which was available through the India Giving Day website and IPA’s YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X social channels.
March 13, 2026 | The launch of India Giving Day 2026 was covered by the South Asian Herald and hundreds of city and community based journals.
March 12, 2026 | The India Philanthropy Alliance announced in a press release that 51 nonprofit organizations would be participating in India Giving Day on March 13, 2026, and that a three hour livestream would bring nonprofit leaders, philanthropists, and celebrities to interactive formats from 3:00-6:00pm ET on India Giving Day. The announcement was covered by the South Asian Herald and New India Abroad on its news website and YouTube channel.

March 1, 2026 | An article written by Maya Rajani of Children’s Hope India and Alex Counts of the India Philanthropy Alliance was published in the March issue of Saathee Magazine. The article was titled How Young Diaspora Donors are Reshaping Giving to India and can be read on pages 22 and 96.
February 26, 2026 | The South Asian Herald published an article titled Emerging Trends Shaping Philanthropy, written by Alex Counts of the India Philanthropy Alliance and Preeti Nandanar of Aarti for Girls. The article explores ways in which philanthropy is evolving from a one-off act of giving into a more strategic and impactful practice.
February 17, 2026 | The India Philanthropy Alliance published an article by Sharmila Rao Thakkar, entitled “Giving Is Good for You: How and Why Philanthropy Benefits the Donor.” The article explores current research that states that generosity measurably strengthens the emotional, social, physical, and even professional well-being of the giver.
February 13, 2026 | The American Bazaar published an article titled Creating trust and building confidence: The growth of Indian American philanthropy, written by Manisha Bharti, Pratham USA and Alex Counts, IPA, that explores the rapid growth of Indian American philanthropy and highlights how annual giving has surged 4–5x since 2018 as diaspora leaders increasingly focus on social impact. It attributes this shift to improved timing, strong nonprofit opportunities in India, influential role models, national giving campaigns, and greater engagement of younger generations, noting that donors are becoming more strategic and impact-driven as they help strengthen ties between the U.S. and India.
