Overview
The third annual INDIA GIVING DAY (IGD), an initiative of the India Philanthropy Alliance, is being held on March 14, 2025. We are partnering with 35+ carefully vetted charities to significantly impact problems like poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, ill health, and environmental degradation in India.
IGD encourages individuals, communities, and organizations to join this movement of collective generosity. The steering committee invites participation through in-person and online events, mobilizing diaspora and donor support nationwide. From 2023 to 2024, we witnessed a remarkable increase in the number and scale of community events, with the total number growing from 4 to 40+. This year, we expect 60+ events to be held nationwide in celebration of IGD 2025.
This guide and toolkit are for organizations and individuals interested in hosting events for awareness and fundraising for IGD 2025, including local chapters of national organizations, small groups, and individuals engaged in philanthropy and volunteering for India. Events can involve youth, young professionals, and anyone inspired to contribute.
