India Giving Day Community Events
A call to join us in the nationwide movement to celebrate India Giving Day
Call for proposals opening date to be announced
India Giving Day (IGD), an initiative of the India Philanthropy Alliance, unites diverse nonprofits under the common goal of sustainable development in India. It amplifies our collective impact and has blossomed into a powerful movement that is not just transforming philanthropy toward India-based causes, but also inspiring and motivating us to do more.
The individuals, communities, and organizations uniting for a common cause are not just at the heart of this movement, they are the very essence of it. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of vulnerable Indians, securing a better future for them. Through your collective action, we are ensuring opportunities for everyone to thrive, regardless of their background.
Join IGD in this movement for change by organizing an event or participating in one. Whether it's an fundraising brunch, a community service day, or a charity run, events, a crucial part of the IGD campaign, play a significant role in building community awareness and mobilizing the diaspora to participate in this nationwide collective generosity movement.
IGD introduced events as a new tradition in 2024. We invited proposals from interested groups and individuals for organizing community events, and the best and most innovative ideas received grants of up to $500 to defray event costs such as snacks, venue rentals, etc. The newly introduced tradition was a success and 40+ events were held across the U.S.!!
Building upon this success, we will be inviting proposals for community events in 2025! The process is simple - come up with an innovative event idea, submit your proposal, and if selected, you'll receive a grant of up to $500 to bring your idea to life. The call for proposals will open in December 2024, and grants will be awarded on a running basis. Follow us on social media to stay up to date on all IGD 2025 information, including the call for event proposals!
